John P. Marschall served as Interim Director of Finance Administration, January through June 1983, until being appointed Director of University Services in July 1983. He held that position until September 1988, when he was reassigned as Special Assistant to the Vice President for Student Services. In July 1989, Student Services was reorganized, and Marschall became Associate Dean for Student Life, which included Residential Life and Housing, Campus Standards, Public Safety, Greek organizations, Fleischmann Planetarium, the Student Union, and Food Services. This included logistic administration for the Sixth U.S. Army Command & General Staff College, the Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center at the Stead facility, the Lawlor Events Center, and minutes of the Parking and Traffic Board, dealing with facility management including fees, security, parking, and space needs.
