Biographical History
Writer, journalist, and editor. Born June 3, 1900, in Fitzgerald, Ga. Educated at The Citadel, the University of Georgia, and Vanderbilt University. Police reporter and member of the editorial staff for the Nashville Banner, 1925-42; executive secretary to U.S. Senator Tom Stewart of Tennessee, 1942-45; self-employed writer and editor, 1945-52; member of the public relations staff of Tennessee Governor Frank Clement, 1952-58. Author of four novels, two plays, and various short stories and articles. Died Jan. 15, 1990, in Nashville, Tenn.
