Henry Riggs Sullivan (b. 1915, Ky.-d. Mar. 7, 1992), U.S. Air Force officer, graduated from West Point in 1939 and received his pilot wings the following year. At the squadron level, he served as pilot, engineering officer, adjutant, and operations officer during World War II. He was a B-29 squadron commander and group commander in the 20th Air Force first in India-China and later in the Marianna Islands. At the end of the War he was director of tactics, 21st Bomber Command, 20th Air Force. In 1948 he began a 10-year series of assignments with the Strategic Air Command (SAC), including chief of the Operations Division at HQ; and commander of the 26th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing, 21st Air Division, and 72nd Bombardment Wing in Puerto Rico. He served as commandant of cadets at the Air Force Academy before his assignment as deputy chief of staff, operations, Allied Air Forces Central Europe HQ (NATO) and commander of all U.S. Air Force personnel assigned to the NATO HQ and its supporting units. He retired from Air Force service in 1967.
