Biographical History
Organization formed Jan. 7, 1884 "to promote the growth and perpetuity of our Church Mission ... for the purpose of work and social meetings ..." During the 1860's and 1870's, Episcopal services had been held in various locations in Concord. In May of 1888, Trinity Mission became Trinity Parish. The Church Aid Society was established at a time when members of Concord's Episcopal community were organizing to transform their mission into a parish with a permanent church building. During the period following its organization, the Society devoted itself.
(Cont.) to raising money for the church building and furnishings. Mrs. George M. Brooks (Mary A. Dillingham Brooks) was the Society's first president.
