Casey, William F., 1889-1936.

William Francis Casey was born on August 29, 1889, in Franklin, Minnesota. He came to Montana in 1912, and the following year homesteaded near Kremlin. While there he served several terms as Kremlin's high school principal.In 1918 Casey enlisted in the 163rd Infantry Regiment of the National Guard and was discharged as a Captain in 1922 at Camp Lewis. After the war Casey returned to Havre and was employed at the post office and at Windham High School for two years. In 1924 William Casey moved to Helena where he became an accountant for the state Department of Agriculture. In 1927 and 1928 Governor John E. Erickson assigned Casey the job of Secretary of the Montana State Fair. In September, 1927, Casey managed activities for Charles Lindbergh's ceremonial appearance in Helena. The following year, Governor Erickson appointed Casey as Plant Superintendent at the Montana State Hospital in Warm Springs. He held that post until his death. Throughout his life, Casey continued to be active in the National Guard.William Casey was married to Maude A. Anderson, and they had four children: Margaret, John, Bernard, and Lorraine. William Francis Casey died in 1936.
