Biographical History

Oldest congregation west of the Allegheny Mountains; founded in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jan. 18, 1824; chartered by Ohio General Assembly Jan. 8, 1830; also known as Broadway Temple, Mound St. Temple, and Rockdale Temple depending on its location; in 1970 in response to Jewish migration to the suburbs, the congregation dedicated a new temple in Amberley Village, a northern Cincinnati suburb.
