Biographical History
The firm of Russell, Majors and Waddell was established in 1854. The principals of the company were William Hepburn Russell (1828-72), William Bradford Waddell (1807-72), and Alexander Majors (1914-1900). As freighters, stagecoach operators, and originators of the Pony Express in 1860, the company collapsed in 1861 and was purchased by Ben Holladay in 1862.
