North House, on the north end of the Radcliffe Quadrangle, was established in 1961 as part of President May I. Bunting's effort to modernize Radcliffe. Originally a dormitory for women, North Hous ebegan accepting male residents after the 1971 Harvard-Radcliffe merger agreement. As of 2001, North House comprises four large dormitory units and a small co-op. These units are Comstock, Holmes, Moors, and Wolbach Halls and the co-op, named for Wilbur K. Jordan, is known as Jordan K. North House was renamed and as of 2001 is known as Pforzheimer House.
