Lev Borisovich (Haim Leib) Bernshtein (aka Leon Bernstein) was born in Kovno in 1877. He was a member of the Bund and the Russian Social-Democrat party. After 1901 he lived in Switzerland and France. He was a member of the French Socialist party and a journalist.
