Wright) was born in 1949, a year after Beatrice began her professional career in academe. During the 1950s - Erik taught in KU's Department of Psychology and due to nepotism regulations, Beatrice was not invited to join the Department of Psychology faculty until 1964, when she became an asscoiate professor.
