Air Force officer.
Otto Paul Weyland (b. Jan. 27, 1902, Riverside, Calif.-d. Sept. 2, 1979), General in the U.S. Air Force, was commissioned in the Air Service upon his graduation from Texas A&M in 1923. During World War II, he served as commanding officer, 16th Pursuit Group; deputy director of air support at Air Force Headquarters; and commanding general of the 84th Fighter Wing and 14th Tactical Air Command, providing air support to General Patton's Third Army. After the War, much-decorated General Weyland was commanding general of the Far East Air Forces and of the Tactical Air Command until his retirement in July 1959.
