Biographical History
C.V. Brennan was a mining engineer and also managed mines in Idaho, Montana and Utah.
For many years in the early 1900s, C. V. Brennan worked for a mining firm and gold mine in Howe Sound, just north of Vancouver, British Columbia. Before that time, he was Chief Engineer for the Exploration Department of Britannia Mining and Smelting Co., Ltd. (From: Records of El Potosi Mining Company, 1929-1952, Benson Latin American Collection, General Libraries, University of Texas at Austin.)
The Howe Sound Company, originally incorporated in 1903, was a holder of North American mining securities. Subsequently, the company changed its name to the Howmet Corporation, and by the early 1960s it had completely abandoned mining for diversified manufacturing. It is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Pechiney International, and produces high-technology components used in gas turbine engines for industrial use as well as for jet aircraft.
