Historian, diplomat (1941-1947), Liberal Party Member of the House of Representatives for the W.A. seat of Curtin (1949-1969), Minister for Territories (1951-1963), Minister for External Affairs (1964-1969), Governor-General of Australia (1969-1974). C.H. Wedgewood was an anthropologist and academic.

Besides a political career, Sir Paul was well-known for his work and writings in the fields of literature and social sciences, as well as history.
