American journalist.
American reformer and journalist.
Oliver Johnson (1809-1889), anti-slavery leader and newspaper editor, established in 1831 the _Christian Soldier_, and in 1833, he edited the _Liberator_ in William Lloyd Garrison's absence. He was also one of the founders of the New England Anti-Slavery Society. Johnson was editor of various other newspapers from 1842 to 1889, and his publications include: _William Lloyd Garrison and His Times_ (Boston, 1879); _What I Know of Horace Greeley_ (N.Y., 1872); and others.
