Biographical History
Isidore Dollinger (November 13, 1903 – January 30, 2000) was an American lawyer, jurist, and politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he notably served as the U.S. Representative for New York's 24th (1949-1953) and 23rd (1953-1959) districts.
Born in New York City, he earned B.C.S. and LL.B. degrees from New York University and was admitted to the New York state bar. Dollinger was a member of the New York State Assembly from the 4th district of Bronx County from 1937 to 1944. He was a member of the New York State Senate's 26th disdtrict from 1945 to 1948, sitting in the 165th and 166th New York State Legislatures. Dollinger was elected to the 81st through 86th United States Congresses, holding office from January 3, 1949, to December 31, 1959, when he resigned to take office as District Attorney of Bronx County. He served as District Attorney from 1960 to 1968.
Dollinger was a Justice of the New York Supreme Court from 1969 to 1973, and an Official Referee of the Supreme Court from 1974 to 1975. He weas a resident of New York City until his death in White Plains, New York. Dollinger was buried at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Flushing, Queens.
