Biographical History

Lulu Belle and Skyland Scotty were the stage names of the 1930s-1950s era husband-and-wife country duet nicknamed the "Sweethearts of Country Music." They were teamed by the staff of Chicago's WLS National Barn Dance and were later married in 1934. They had their own daily TV show and remained popular until their retirement in 1958. Some of their popular songs include Whippoorwill time, Remember me, Have I told you lately that I love you?, Empty Christmas stocking, and Mountain dew.
