Biographical History

Adam Peiperl (June 4, 1935- ) has spent more than three decades incorporating technology into his artwork. He is a kinetic light sculptor, photographer and videographer. He has created sculptures by using polarized light and also has used digital technology to create his art. He earned a BS in Chemistry from George Washington University (GW) in 1957. He has had many one-man shows in such places as the Smithsonian Museum of History and Technology. His work is also part of permanent collections at several museums including the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. In addition to his status as a graduate of GW, his connection to the University comes through his collaboration with choreographer Maida Withers, a faculty member in the GW Dance Program since 1966. He has been photographing GW dance students since 1986.
