Biographical History

Larry Carpenter was born October 27, 1933 in Loudonville, Ohio. He attained a Bachelor degree in Journalism from Kent State University in 1955 and did post-graduate study at Syracuse University in Communications. Most of his life work reflected these interests: he served 8 years in the Signal Corps. for the Army Reserve; from 1969-1974, he worked as news director of the Fairbanks station KFRB-KTVF and served as host of the popular radio talk show "Beeline"; he then served as the Community Relations representative for Alyeska Pipeline Service Company, taking a two year leave of absence when he was elected to the Alaska Legislature as a representative in 1976. In 1978, Carpenter founded the Interior Energy Corporation for which he served as CEO; he also launched several Alaskan business ventures. Larry Carpenter died in 1993 in Phoenix, Arizona.
