Biographical History

Biographical note: Frank Fowler was a professor of Romance Languages at the University of Arizona. Iron artifacts discovered on Silverbell Road in Tucson, Ariz. in 1924 were variously attributed to Phoenician sailors, Spanish explorers, Mormons, Quetzacoatl, and a Roman-Jewish settlement circa 775 A.D. Fowler was called in to evaluate the Latin language inscribed on the artifacts.

From the description of Silverbell artifact materials, 1925-1926. (Arizona Historical Society, Southern Arizona Division). WorldCat record id: 49938825
