Biographical History

Charles William Laver was a medical officer and pastoralist. One of the early promoters of gold mining in the Laverton area; the townsite was named after him. He married Edith Beatrice Attewell in 1904.

Sheila Eugenie Laver was born in 1907, the eldest daughter and second child of Charles and Edith Laver. After her father's death she, her sister Elizabeth and their mother moved to Melbourne but Sheila and Elizabeth returned to Kalgoorlie to retire in 1980. Sheila, the last of the Laver siblings, died on 21 July 1999.
