Biographical History

Edith Smith, unmarried daughter of Edwin A. Smith of Spokane, Washington, was secretary of the Spokane Canteen Service of the American Red Cross during WWI.

The service, captained by Lenna (Mrs. Thomas W.) Baird, started in August, 1917 and apparently functioned until some time in 1919.
