Wilbert E. Longfellow (b. 1881, Pawtuxet, R.I.-d. Mar. 18, 1947, Pawtuxet, R.I.), social reformer, was founder of the American Red Cross Water Safety Program. In 1914, he founded the Red Cross Life Saving Corps, a fore-runner of today's Red Cross Water Safety Program.
