Moran, Abby, d. 1974.

Abby Moran was born in Eagle Pass and grew up in San Antonio. She was married to Col. John Stephen Moran, a builder's supply company owner who died in 1969. She earned a master's degree at Texas Woman's University in 1953. In 1957, she became head of The Fort Worth Public Library's Southwest history and genealogy department until her retirement in 1963. After her retirement she continued to do research, to lecture, and to teach courses in research methods. She was a former member of the Woman's Club and past chairman of its creative writing department. She held memberships in Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and Tarrant County Historical Society. She had one son, Brian Thomas Moran. She died on November 23, 1974 at the age of 71.
