Biographical History

John Watson (1808-1900) and his wife Agnes came to Rusk County, Texas, in 1850 from Tennessee with nine children.

Primarily a farmer, Watson also served as a Justice of the Peace (1854) and as a collecting agent for James H. Starr and Son. Three of his sons fought in the Civil War; one survived. Five more children were born in Texas.
