Biographical History

Born in Pelham, New Hampshire, in 1882, Frederick A. Cutter attended Lowell High School before enrolling into the Massachusetts Agricultural College in 1902. One of the first students on a five year plan, Cutter graduated as a member of the class of 1907. During his time at the college, he became known for his jovial nature, earning the nickname "Joke," and for his involvement in athletics. The center on the varsity football team, he was also a forward on the basketball team, manager of the baseball team, and a member of the Undergraduate Athletic Board. In his equally active social life, he served as head of the Komical Klub, a Vaudeville cast member, and he was a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity.

After graduating, Cutter established a successful tree care business in Orange, New Jersey.
