Biographical History
The Kilton Sampling Works was built in 1895 and burned in 1907. It was a sampling work and chlorination process mill.
Camp Albion was a small mining center in western Boulder County. It served as the center of the Snowy Range Mining District, organized in 1861. The peak population is thought to have been about 200. The site of this camp now is within the City of Boulder watershed area near Albion Lake.
Louis Meile was a Boulder photographer between 1888 and 1899. He was in partnership with Joseph Sturtevant in 1894.
William Robson Notman was minister from 1896-1899.
The school house (left center) was built in 1886, with additions to the far side in 1896 and 1898. The Catholic Church (far right center) was built in 1896. The railroad, which came to Ward in 1898, is not visible in these views.
