Biographical History

The State Judicial System Study Committee was established in 1959 as an interim legislative committee (1959 NM Laws, Chp. 63, Sec. 1-9). The Committee's life was extended in 1961 and 1963 (1961 NM Laws, Chp. 23, Sec. 1-7 and 1963 NM Laws, Chp. 65, Sec. 1-7) and ended in 1965. Its function was to examine the statutes, constitutional provisions, regulations and court decisions governing the judiciary system, and recommend legislation or changes.
