Biographical History
Biographical Note: John Charles Geyer was a professor of Environmental Engineering, The Johns Hopkins University.
He was born in Neosho, Missouri in 1906. He studied civil engineering at the University of Michigan and went to Harvard in 1931 as an assistant to Professor Gordon Fair. Geyer received the Ph. D. from Hopkins in 1943 and remained to teach in the Department of Environmental Engineering until his retirement as Professor Emeritus in 1973. Dr. Geyer co-authored important texts in sanitary engineering with Gordon Fair and Daniel Okun and was often called upon for consulting work with federal and state agencies. He served on the President's Science Advisory Committee, 1964-65, and chaired a sub-panel studing salinity levels in the Colorado River. John Charles Geyer resides in Baltimore, MD.
