Biographical History

Glenn C. Waterman was Chief Geologist with the Chile Exploration Company of the Anaconda Mining Company in Chuquicamata, Chile, from 1950-1955. During that time, he mapped the Chuqui drainage tunnel. He then returned to the United States to Anaconda’s Salt Lake City, Utah offices. In 1958, he went back to Chile to study and map a portion of the El Salvador mine and to examine several old districts and little-explored areas. In 1959, he was transferred to Toronto, Canada to work in exploration.

Waterman’s work was based on copper genesis and exploration for new copper ore bodies. He was educated at Stanford University, earning a bachelor’s degree in 1933 and an M.S. degree in 1950. He was married with two children.
