The Real Silk Company was founded in 1922 in Indianapolis by brothers J.A. and L.L. Goodman. The company manufactured hosiery, lingerie, and underwear; and bomb parachutes and military hosiery during World War II. It also had plants in Linton, Ind., Georgia, and Mississippi. The Indianapolis plant was sold in the 1950s, but the company continues to operate as an investment firm.
