Biographical History

Music of both preludes and fugues originally composed separately for the following oratorios of Gregor Werner: Esther, Absalon, Holoferne, Der verlorene Sohn, Adam, and Job. Later transcribed for string quartet by Joseph Haydn and the first edition published by Artaria in Vienna, 1804.--Cf. Fleisher Collection.
