Biographical History
Prosecuting attorney, Lawrence County, Indiana, 1842; U.S. congressman, 1847-1849 (as a Whig) and 1855-1857 (as a Republican); Indiana state senator, 1850-1852.
Born in Kentucky, Dunn moved to Indiana ca. 1826 and settled in Lawrence County. He was admitted to the bar in 1835 and formed a law partnership with R.W. Thompson. Dunn served in the U.S. Congress (1847-1849; 1855-1857) and Indiana State Senate (1850-1852). His sons Moses Fell and George Grundy Dunn practiced law together and ran a limestone quarry.
