Clarence Stoltz was born July 4, 1904 in Buffalo, North Dakota to Peter and Winifred Stoltz. The family moved to Meadowlands, Minnesota. Clarence moved west in 1923 settling on a place near Valier, Mont on the Blackfoot Reservation in 1925. While living there he met and married Dorothy Scott. E. Dorothy Scott Stoltz was born on June 10, 1918 to Allen and Vi Scott in Hingham, Mont. Dorothy attended Montana State College (MSU-Bozeman) on a scholastic scholarship. She finished her two year teaching certificate in Billings. Dorothy taught school near Lennep before moving to the Grandview School on the Blackfoot Reservation near Valier. Dorothy Scott and Clarence Stoltz were married on December 27, 1939 in Helena, Mont., by Associate Justice Leif Erickson in the Supreme Court Chambers. They had five children Michael, Peter, Sarah, Alanna, and Arleyn. The family moved to a ranch near Sunburst in 1944. She and Clarence were active members in the Montana Farmers Union. They left the ranch in 1991 and moved to Sunburst. Clarence died on April 29, 1998. Dorothy died on September 19, 2007.
