Biographical History

Southern Baptist Religious Education Association started in 1956 at a Kansas City joint meeting of the Southeastern, Southwestern, and Western Religious Education Associations chaired by W. L. Howse. SBREA, today the Baptist Association of Christian Educators, is a professional organization for those involved in religious education. Its membership includes students, and active and retired workers in churches, colleges, seminaries, associations, state conventions, and Southern Baptist Convention agencies. The organization holds an annual conference and publishes, BACE Journal.
