The Midwifery Dispensary was located on Broome Street, and was merged with the Lying-In Hospital in 1892.
Charitable society formed in Dec. of 1798 and incorporated in New York City in 1799 for the financial and medical assistance of destitute mothers and pregnant women.
Formed Dec. 1798 and incorporated May 1799 as Society of the Lying-In Hospital of the City of New-York;
governing body and official name for what was also called New York Lying In Hospital.
