The Northwest Power Planning Council is a four state regional planning body formed by Congress in 1980 (The Pacific Northwest Regional Electric Power Planning and Conservation Act; P.L. 96-501) to make regional conservation and electric power plans.
The Northwest Power Planning Council is a four state regional planning body formed by Congress in 1980 (The Pacific Northwest Regional Electric Power Planning and Conservation Act; P.L. 96-501) to make regional conservation and electric power plans.
These plans are to be implemented by the Bonneville Power Administration. It is composed of two representatives from each member state: Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana. Originally known as the Pacific Northwest Electric Power and Conservation Planning Council, in October 1981 the name was shorten to Northwest Power Planning Council.
