The company was incorporated in 1892, with James J. Hill as an interested party, and was eventually acquired formally by GN interests in 1897. It built and operated about 30 miles of rail line between Kaslo and Sandon. Its properties became part of the Kootenay Railway and Navigation Company in 1899, and were absorbed into GN in 1911.
