Biographical History

The construction firm of Latham & Walters was founded in 1909 in Indianapolis, Ind. by Charles Latham and Harrison Walters. The firm specialized in commercial and industrial buildings, but also built two major residences in Indianapolis, those of James A. Allison and Stoughton A. Fletcher. Commercial work included the track elevations at Union Station, Indianapolis; the New Indiana Reformatory at Pendleton; two churches; and several warehouses and workshops. Walters bought the firm in 1927 and continued as Walters Engineering Co. while Latham specialized in residential work.
