Biographical History

Joseph Nichols of Farmingham, Mass., served as a clerk in Capt. John Taplin's Company, Col. Bagley's Massachusetts Regiment in Abercromby's Ticonderoga campaign (1758). His son Fortunatus was a member of Capt. Nixon's Company of Minute men (Farmingham, Mass., 1775), and later served in the Revolutionary Army.
