William E. McLellin joined the LDS Church in 1831 and was appointed one of the first apostles in 1835.
McLellin served as member of Quorum of the Twelve, 1835-1838.
William E. McLellin (1806-1883) was one of the early converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called as one of the original Twelve Apostles by the Prophet Joseph Smith. He began to apostatize from the Church and was eventually excommunicated. He became an opponent to the Church and was part of the mob in Missouri.
William E. McLellin (1806-1883) was one of the original members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
William E. McLellin was born in Smith County, Tennessee on 18 January 1806. William E. McLellin (also spelled M'Lellin) was an early leader in the Latter-day Saint movement. One of the original members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, McLellin later broke with church founder, Joseph Smith, Jr. He married on July 30, 1829. His wife, Cynthia Ann McLellin, died in 1832. He died in 1883.
Orson Hyde (1805-1878) was an original member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
Orson Hyde was born on January 8, 1805. He was a leader in the early Latter-day Saint movement and an original member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. He was the President of the Quorum of the Twelve from 1847 to 1875 and was a missionary of the LDS Church in the United States, Europe, and the Ottoman Empire. He died on 28 November 1878.
