Biographical History

Born in Hanover, N. H.; graduated from Andover Seminary. Served as missionary to the Seneca Indians on the Buffalo Creek Reservation from 1831 to 1846, and on the Cattaraugus Reservation from 1846 until his death in 1875. He established the Mission Press which published texts in the Seneca language.
