Robin Olds (b. July 14, 1922, Honolulu, Hawaii-d. June 14, 2007), U.S. Air Force officer, graduated from West Point, received his commission and completed flight training in 1943. During World War II, he flew 107 combat missions, and during the Vietnam War in 1966 he completed 152 combat missions. Assignments in England, Germany, Libya, Thailand, and the U.S. included command of squadrons, bases, groups, and wings; he also held positions at Air Force HQ and with the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In 1966 he assumed command of the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing in Thailand, and the following year began an assignment as commandant of cadets at the U.S. Air Force Academy. In 1971 he became director of aerospace safety at the Air Force Inspection and Safety Center, and retired in 1973.
