Biographical History

Lydia Louisa Ann Very was born in Salem, Massachusetts, and taught school there. She published poems in various regional periodicals, and illustrated children's books. She also published collections of poetry and her own children's stories. Her brothers, Jones Very and Washington Very, were also prominent regional poets.
