Dr. Claude C. George, Jr. (1922- ), born in Atlanta, Georgia, received his B.S. at Tuskegee Institute in 1948, a M.A. degree in 1949 from New York University, and an EdS in 1972 and EdD in 1981 from Atlanta University. He was an athlete and coach as well as teacher, principal, and administrator during his 39-year career in the Atlanta Public Schools including the years of desegregation in the school system. Active in community service in the Atlanta area, he also was involved in international student exchange and student ambassador programs.
