Biographical History

Albert E. Keats arrived in Spokane Falls in June, 1880. He began working as a clerk in F.R. Moore’s general merchandising business. By late 1883, Keats went into business for himself and established the Spokane Bakery and Grocery Company. In 1887, in partnership with B.B. Bravinder, he bought the Echo Flour Mill. The mill burned in 1892 but was replaced by a new, modern mill later that same year.
