Bob Barr represented the 7th District of Georgia in the United States House of Representatives between his election in November 1994 to 2002. He earned his law degree from Georgetown University, a masters degree from George Washington University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California. He served as a CIA official from 1971-1978. Bob Barr was appointed U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia (ca. 1986-1990) by President Ronald Reagan. The congressman served as president of the Southeastern Legal Foundation 1990-1991. He ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in 1992. The congressman authored Meaning of Is: the squandered impeachment and wasted legacy of William Jefferson Clinton. He also wrote Patriot Nation: Bob Barr's Laws of the Universe Volume One, and Lessons in Liberty. Bob Barr was the Libertarian Party's presidential nominee in 2008 and garnered 523,433 votes in the general election. Congressman Barr continues to write and speak out on issues affecting the United States.
