Anglican archdeacon. Arrived in Western Australia in 1853. Married Francis Tree Mitchell (daughter of the Reverend William Mitchell) in 1856. Chaplain of Fremantle Convict Establishment 1853-1855, minister at York 1855-1862, archdeacon in Perth 1862-1874, Colonial Chaplain of Upper and Middle Swan in charge of the orphanage and Aboriginal establishment 1874-1895.
