La Crosse Board of Trade, La Crosse, Wis., organized in 1860; became inactive ca. 1864 but reorganized in 1868; in 1916 joined other organizations to form La Crosse Chamber of Commerce; in 1939 name changed to La Crosse County Chamber of Commerce; renamed Greater La Crosse Chamber of Commerce in the 1960s, and in 1970s became known as Greater La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce.
