Biographical History

Eunice Farley Felton was the niece of Elizabeth Cary Agassiz, who was the sister of Caroline Amelia Farley. Felton's husband was Cornelius Conway Felton, son of the president of Harvard. The Feltons acquired Tintoretto's "Adoration of the Magi" during a trip to Venice and the painting was verified as a Tintoretto while on loan to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts in 1929. In 1932, it was loaned to Radcliffe and hung in the Alumnae Lecture Room in Longfellow Hall. Eunice Felton died in 1941, leaving the painting as a bequest to Racliffe College. It was moved to the Fogg Museum in 1966.
