Biographical History

Masanori Murakami was the first Japanese-born player to play in the Major Leagues. He pitched his entire career for the San Francisco Giants (1964-1965). Horace Stoneham, son of former New York Giants owner Charles Stoneham, took over ownership of the team (1936-1975).
